Mirna Daye (postdoctoral associate in the Bosak lab), Jeemin Rhim (graduate student in the Bosak and Ono labs) and Professor Tanja Bosak presented at the Goldschmidt 2016 Conference in Yokohama, Japan. See their abstracts here:
Sharon Newman, a graduate student in the Bosak lab, attended the 2015 Goldschmidt conference in Prague, Czech Republic. She presented her talk entitled “Cyanobacterial fossilization through the formation and trapping of clays.“
The Bosak lab attended the 2015 Astrobiology Science Conference in Chicago, IL. Sharon Newman presented a talk on cyanobacterial fossilization by clay minerals and Shane O’Reilly (a Bosak lab collaborator) presented his recent work on the microbial contribution to ooid formation. Also, make sure to check out abstracts by Andras Zsom (co-advised by Dr. Sara Seager) on the habitable zone: A population based prospective and Emily Matys (co-advised by Dr. Roger Summons) on the biological diversity of microbial structures in Antarctic ice-covered lakes.
The Bosak lab traveled to Vancouver this year to take part in the Annual Meeting of the Geological Society of America. Check out the GSA session handbook for presented posters and talks from the lab!
